MedRev offers comprehensive clinical review services that help healthcare organizations cope with the increasing complexity and volume of medical demands, while also facing rising costs and insurance premiums. MedRev contributes to the fight against fraud, waste, and abuse in medical services, as well as to the reduction of unjustified variations in healthcare services, thereby promoting high-value care. In addition, MedRev offers personalized medical review services that help its clients reduce claims costs and properly assess disability and accident claims based on medical evidence and expert recommendations.
The problem
To date, Medical Reviews International (MedRev) has used a system hosted in the US, and this solution continues to serve them effectively. However, their European clients have made it a clear requirement that medical data must remain within Europe, which is critical to compliance with data protection regulations, particularly the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
This requirement posed a significant challenge for MedRev, as their existing system did not meet this criterion, and a new portal hosted in Europe had to be developed. For MedRev, it was of paramount importance that the new system not only complied with the data protection requirements, but also preserved or enhanced the functionality of the existing US system. The challenge was therefore not only to create a new infrastructure, but also to integrate the new system into existing workflows and business models, while ensuring data security and continuity of services.
The essence of the solution
In this situation, MedRev turned to Gloster-P92 Kft. for help in developing a unique portal for them, operated in Europe, which complies with European data protection regulations and supports the company's growing European customer base. The new system had to ensure a high level of data security, flexible scalability, and ease of use so that MedRev could continue to operate as one of the market's leading providers in the field of healthcare review.
The solution developed for Medical Reviews International (MedRev) was a medical second opinion portal running on Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure. The AWS platform was chosen because it provides a flexible, scalable and reliable solution that can handle the privacy and operational requirements of MedRev's European customers.
The portal is backed by an encrypted Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) database, which ensures the protection and integrity of sensitive medical data. The separate encryption of data stored in the database was a key element of the project, as the secure handling of medical data and compliance with data protection regulations were fundamental requirements in the European market.
Thanks to AWS's cloud-based solution, MedRev was able to create a portal that is not only secure and compliant with data protection regulations, but also provides high availability and fast access to medical second opinions. The portal enables medical experts to work quickly and efficiently, thereby improving service quality and patient care efficiency.
During the project, Gloster-P92 paid special attention to user experience (UX) to ensure that the portal would be intuitive and easy to use for both medical experts and customers. During development, they consulted continuously with the MedRev team to ensure that the portal perfectly matched their specific needs and workflows.
As a result of the project, MedRev now has a platform that provides an excellent service not only to US but also to European customers, while remaining fully compliant with data protection regulations and ensuring business continuity.
The specificity of the solution
The distinctive feature of the Medical Reviews International (MedRev) project was not the spectacular innovations or technological feats, but the thoughtful and responsible approach taken by the developers in assessing the status and quality of the existing code. The project did not seek to make immediate and radical changes, but rather to thoroughly examine and evaluate the existing system architecture and code in order to make informed decisions on how to improve it.
This approach has enabled them to create a robust, reliable and scalable system that meets not only current, but also future business and technology challenges. The portal developed for MedRev uses AWS cloud infrastructure to flexibly manage data traffic, and the MSSQL database, encrypted in itself and in its content, ensures data security and integrity.
Throughout the project, particular attention was paid to ensuring that the system is compliant not only with current GDPR and other data protection regulations, but also with future ones. During the development, they worked closely with MedRev's internal team to ensure a seamless integration of the system with existing workflows and customer needs.
Overall, the project's uniqueness lay in the fact that, thanks to the in-depth knowledge of the existing system and a responsible development strategy, Gloster-P92's colleagues created a solution that will serve MedRev's customers in the long term, while maintaining a high level of data security and complying with strict European data protection regulations.

The project does not stop at a successful launch; Gloster-P92 colleagues are currently working continuously on further developing and supporting the portal. Their roadmap already includes the next 2-3 major version updates, which aim to make the portal even more responsive to changing customer needs and take advantage of the latest technological innovations.
These updates include further refinement of the user interface, expansion of integration capabilities, and the introduction of new features that further advance MedRev's goals: reducing costs, improving service quality, and reducing overuse of medical services. The roadmap ensures that the portal will continue to evolve and adapt to the rapidly changing healthcare market environment.
In addition to the long-term support and development plans, the partnership between MedRev and Gloster-P92 Ltd. will be further strengthened, which will not only facilitate technological development but also the achievement of strategic business goals.
